Positives: A lot of money has been spent and in Roberto Soldado and Paulinho they have two world class players that will definitely add in the striking and midfield departments respectively. This is a hugely important season for Andre VIllas Boas and don't be surprised if one or two more names come in before the transfer window closes.

Negatives: The Gareth Bale saga in which the big will he or won't he go to Real Madrid has dragged on now. If Madrid are serious in breaking the works record transfer fee they might wait to the last few days of the window to lower the price. It is inevitable that Bale will go and will be a huge loss for them considering the way he carried the side for a lot of last season. Clint Dempsey being sold to Seattle was also a bit mistfying as he probably had more to offer Spurs than the season he did do with them. It's 4th or bust with Villas Boas this season and if Bake is sold even with the recruitments they have bought they just might miss out again on a Champions League place but it will be close.

Prediction: 5th
